There’s something rather lovely about the colder months. Woolly jumpers make a comeback, the evenings draw in, and suddenly there’s every excuse to put the kettle on.
Our Spiced Winter Rooibos Tea is made for those wonderfully cosy moments.
Combining the smooth, mellow character of rooibos with warming winter spices, this naturally caffeine-free infusion is full of comforting flavour and seasonal charm.
It’s the sort of cuppa that makes you want to settle into your favourite chair, pull a blanket over your knees and forget about the washing-up for another ten minutes.
Surely it can wait!
At the heart of our Spiced Winter Rooibos is rooibos, a naturally caffeine-free herbal infusion from South Africa.
Also known as red bush tea, rooibos is loved for its gentle sweetness, rounded flavour and beautiful reddish-amber colour.
Its smooth character makes a wonderful base for aromatic spices, allowing their warming flavours to shine without overpowering the cup.
The result is a beautifully comforting infusion, with a mellow sweetness and a fragrant, gently spiced finish.
There’s something familiar and inviting about those wintery aromas, bringing to mind cosy kitchens, festive baking and the lovely feeling of coming in from the cold.
One of the loveliest things about Spiced Winter Rooibos is that it’s naturally caffeine-free.
Unlike traditional black tea, rooibos contains no caffeine naturally, so there’s no need for a decaffeination process.
That makes this warming infusion a lovely choice for an afternoon break or a cosy evening cuppa.
Whether you’re enjoying a quiet moment after a busy day or sharing a pot with friends, it’s a comforting drink that fits beautifully into winter routines.
And if you fancy a second cup?
Well, we certainly wouldn’t argue!
As your Spiced Winter Rooibos brews, the water takes on a lovely reddish-amber colour.
The aroma is warm and inviting, with the fragrant spices complementing the mellow rooibos.
On the palate, you’ll find a smooth, rounded infusion with a gentle natural sweetness and a warming spiced character.
It’s full of flavour without needing to be overly strong.
Enjoy it just as it is, or add a little sweetness if you prefer.
A lovely winter warmer, whatever the weather decides to do.
Although this blend has a wonderfully festive personality, we think it deserves a place in the cupboard well beyond December.
There’s something comforting about spiced flavours on a chilly autumn afternoon, a frosty January morning or one of those unexpectedly cold spring evenings.
It’s a lovely alternative to traditional tea when you’re in the mood for something a little more aromatic.
And if you enjoy the scent of winter spices, there’s no reason to pack them away with the decorations.
Some favourites are simply too good to save for Christmas!
Place one tea bag into your favourite mug and pour over freshly boiled water at 100°C.
Allow the infusion to brew for approximately 5–7 minutes, giving the rooibos and warming spices time to release their flavour.
Enjoy it without milk to appreciate the aromatic spice notes, or try a splash of milk for a softer, creamier cuppa.
A little honey or sugar can also be added if you fancy something sweeter.
Then find yourself a comfortable spot and enjoy a little winter warmth.
Some teas are perfect for a quiet moment alone. Others are made for sharing.
Spiced Winter Rooibos manages to be both.
It’s a lovely cuppa to offer friends who pop round on a cold afternoon, especially alongside a slice of cake or a homemade biscuit.
Its naturally caffeine-free character also makes it a welcoming choice when you’re putting the kettle on later in the day.
And there’s something rather satisfying about filling the kitchen with the aroma of warming spices.
No need to light a scented candle when the kettle’s doing such a lovely job!
If you enjoy Spiced Winter Rooibos, why not explore a few more warming favourites from our collection?
Our Masala Rooibos Chai Tea combines naturally caffeine-free rooibos with ginger, cassia, black pepper, cardamom, cloves and nutmeg for a fragrant, gently spiced infusion.
For a richer, naturally caffeinated alternative, try our Masala Chai Tea, a warming black tea blend filled with aromatic spices.
Our Rooibos Time Out Tea offers a smoother, more mellow rooibos experience without the additional winter spices.
Or, if you fancy something with a different kind of warmth, our Lemongrass and Ginger Tea brings together refreshing citrus notes and the gentle heat of ginger.
Four lovely teas, each with their own character and plenty of reasons to put the kettle on.
At Westcountry Tea Co, we’ve been creating and producing teas in Cornwall since 2010, with a love of distinctive flavours and the simple pleasure of a good cuppa.
In 2018, we became one of Britain’s first 100% plastic-free tea companies, something we’re still incredibly proud of.
Our tea bags are biodegradable, our packaging is plastic-free, and our cardboard boxes are recyclable.
We also believe in supporting independent businesses, which is why we supply independent shops across the UK and beyond rather than the big supermarkets.
Good tea, thoughtful packaging and a little independence. That’s the way we like it!
